When business decision becomes personal

I am staring at the blank sheet where i am supposed to write an article. The ideas are running through my head and is hard to focus on what is more important: the truth or a sugar coated article? Here is the truth: Live on the fast lane of running a cleaning company in London is not an easy way of living. The decisions you have to made, the choices you have to suffer but most of all you have to think, what kind of a leader you want to be? Personally, i often ask myself this question, mainly because i believe a cleaning operative should be treated like a human being, not like an employee or a sub-contractor you have sub-contracted to provide cleaning service on your behalf.I believe i am giving my all to be the generous, forgiven and righteous leader, but there always is a but. How do you figure a way to form a proper communication and rules delegation to all? Is there a right way? We all wonder and loose ourselves in translation and i am thinking maybe to be successful you have to be true to yourself. To forget what is write and wrong through someone else's prism. And when you are 100% sure about a decision you have made, you have to be strong enough to see it through. So here i am making the decision to fine one of our cleaning operative, a decision not easily made, but fair in the eyes of our own court of justice. Do i regret- definitely NOT, have a warned- most positively YES!The tearful plead has just began and we must stand strong,, because lesson should be thought. In few weeks from today, things could be different, i could change, but closing my eyes at night i know that justice has been served. Needless to mention that a cleaning contract has been lost, important client has been left very angry and disappointed. Our reputation has been tarnished and of course you might think that is just one client, just one account. You will get over it, another bigger account will shortly knock on your door. But is it all that easy, nope i don't think so!!! In a corporate world people can easily walk over each other in order to secure the x million account and will receive the much desired bonus at the end of the year. The excitement of stabbing one in the back is like an adrenaline rush for another, and you are coming back for more on the next day, and more... In our world of running your own cleaning business in London one is damn sure...you are out there on your own. Securing a client, account and cleaning contract depends on how hard you work, how much energy you put in and how persistent you are in searching for new clients. So loosing a client just like that because some one hasn't done what they were supposed to do it's a shame for our industry and of course shame on us for having trusted a third party in a face of a cleaning operative. You might think i take it too personally, and you might be right, but this could be the headline of this article...i just had a thought...
